Procedure for Enrollment

  • Please fill in the above Contact form and one of our staff will get in touch with you for scheduling a free Trial class.
  • We will allot a trainer available for requested time slot and schedule demo class by creating a whatsapp group with the trainer , student and the student coordinator.
  • Once the trial class is over, you will be given a feedback form .Based on your response we shall allot the same tutor or suggest someone else for another trial class. Maximum of two trial classes are allowed.
  • If you are interested in enrollment do let us know via call or Whatsapp. After this we shall send the invoice and on payment ebooks will be sent for Carnatic Music students.
  • Kindly register within one week of taking the trial class as otherwise we cannot guarantee availability of the same trainer.
  • After registration , ebooks will be sent and we intimate the trainer to begin regular classes.

Terms and Conditions for Students

Students/parents are requested to read through all the terms and conditions mentioned below before registering for classes with Gaayak.

  • Fee payment cycle is once in 4 classes/ 8 classes as opted.An invoice will be sent to you from our end. The payment needs to be paid within 3 working days . In case of delay do intimate us through whatsapp or else the student will not be able to attend further classes.
  • Classes can be taken over any period of time . But fees once paid will NOT be refunded.
  • All courses are split into various levels . Some students may have completed upto a certain level. However , the level to which a student will be admitted and the transition from one level to another is the discretion of the trainer.
  • Students are expected to confirm classes with the trainer at least 24 hours in advance. This is basic respect for gurus we expect from the student.
  • Regarding cancellation and rescheduling of classes, we are flexible.But student has to inform the trainer / coordinator at least 24 hours in advance. Kindly do not make the trainer wait.
  • In case of poor internet connectivity , classes will be rescheduled without extra payment.
  • In case a student isn’t satisfied with an existing trainer, switch over to a new trainer is permitted. However, this can;t be done more than twice.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the classes one on one ?
    Yes all our courses are one to one. Each individual will have a separate time slot and even siblings are advised to take up separate slots since each student has his/her own pace of learning.
  • What is the min age requirement ?
    We have a min age cap of 5 years . However, students will be evaluated for sitting tolerance before registering for class. Adults are also welcome to learn.
  • What are the requirements to begin classes ?
    A strong internet connection for classes on Skype or any other video sharing app preferable to you. Preferably a laptop or iPad for better visibility and ease in learning.
  • How long is each class ?
    Beginner level - 40 - 45 min
    Intermediate level - 45 to 50 mins
    Advanced level - 1 hour
  • How long will it take me to finish each level ?
    This depends on the students’ learning capacity and dedication and we don’t make promises on the time-line. Music requires a lot of practice and teachers tell us when a student is ready to move on to the next level.
  • Will I get a fee discount ?
    All students are on par and no discounts are offered unless there is a promotional activity. For short term courses only existing students and referrals are given discounts.
  • Do you provide any training materials like books or videos ?
    Yes we offer eBooks for Carnatic Music classes at every level. As for other courses, trainer will independently provide based on lesson dealt.
  • Do I get to choose the teacher ?
    Yes you have the freedom to request us, but allotment of the same trainer will depend on his/her slot availability.
  • Do I need a formal education in music to enroll ?
    No formal music knowledge required for Semi Classical and Carnatic Beginner. But for light music we do expect little knowledge in carnatic music.
  • For instrumental training, will you arrange for instruments ?
    No. As these are online one to one classes students have to arrange instruments on their own.
  • Can I choose songs or lessons which I want to learn ?
    You can request the trainer assigned to you . But, we leave it to the trainer to decide whether students’ have the capacity to learn what they desire.
  • Do you offer any short term courses for children or adults ?
    Yes we do. Do register to our newsletter so we can keep updating you about new courses.
